Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Colorlign is built so you never have to make an account. You can play the full game without giving us your name, your email, or anything that identifies you. This page explains, in plain language, what little information we do use and why.
You never need to sign up
There is no account, no password, and no email address required to play Colorlign. Your daily puzzle and leaderboard entry are tied only to your own device, not to you personally.
What we use
- A random device code. The first time you play, your browser creates a random code that stays on your device. It is not your name and it is not tied to any personal account. We use it to keep your leaderboard entry connected to you and to stop the same device from submitting more than one score per board per day.
- Your player name, if you choose one. You can pick a fun nickname to show on the leaderboard. This is entirely optional and is never checked against your real identity.
- Your country and state, if you choose to share them. These are also optional. If you share them, they show up next to your leaderboard entry so you can represent where you play from. If you leave this blank or choose "prefer not to say," nothing is shown.
- A quick security check when you submit a score. We use a security service from Cloudflare to make sure a real person, not an automated script, submitted the score. It does not track you around the internet.
- General location, automatically shared by your browser. Like almost every website, your browser shares a rough idea of what country or region you are visiting from. We only ever look at this in the aggregate, to understand where our players are overall. We never see or store your exact address or precise location.
- A reminder key, only if you turn on notifications. If you choose to get notified when a new board opens, your browser creates a key that lets us send that one reminder. It is not linked to your name or any personal detail, and you can turn it off at any time.
What we do not do
- We do not ask for your email, phone number, or real name.
- We do not track you across other websites or apps.
- We do not sell your information to anyone.
- We do not build a personal profile of you for advertising.
Advertising
Colorlign is free to play and supported by ads. Our ads are not personalized to you individually. If you are visiting from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will see a consent option before any ad-related preferences are set, in line with local law.
Cookies
We keep cookie use to a minimum: mainly the security check mentioned above, and standard ad-related cookies once advertising is active on the site. We do not use cookies to build a browsing history of you.
Children's privacy
Colorlign is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you are a parent and believe your child has played and you would like their leaderboard entry removed, contact us using the details below and we will take care of it.
Your choices
Because everything is tied to your device rather than an account, clearing your data is simple: clear this site's data in your browser's settings, and your device code, name, and any saved preferences are gone. We are also building a one tap "Clear my data" button directly into the game's Settings menu, coming soon.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page.
